Was this issue of Billboard current? If it is I'll go out and get a copy. Also, for another cool Jeff album, check out Bryan Duncan's "Anonymous Confession of a Lunatic Friend". Amazing grooves and drum sound.

Dig that practice pad...reminded me of my first! In fact, there still are a few of those types around in music mags--the wood triangle that resembles the Triumph TR-7.

Thanks CBrady for posting this topic and reminding us all what Jeff meant to the drum family. Jeff is truly missed by all of us who
had the pleasure of hearing his great playing.
I also think its funny that these young kids that don't know who the band toto was but for some reason or another they have sure heard of the Rosanna shuffle. I now that Jeff is looking down at us still so all I can say is here's to you buddy you have touched us all and will forever be with us.

Thanks DrumDoctor. I'm just a big Jeff nut. I got to thinking(always dangerous)about all the cool albums Jeff played on. There is one by Boz Scaggs called "Other Roads". Check out the tune called "I Don't Hear You". About half way through the tune there is probably the closest thing to a Jeff drum solo that you'll ever hear. It is about 8 bars and very, very cool. Somewhere at home I have a transription of it that I wrote out many years ago.

That is indeed a badass tune, a Dann Huff tune actually. The 6's Jeff blazes thru on this tune rock.

I've always loved that section! The "up and down" section is a part I copy all the time, or should I say, attempt to copy! :-)

I'm just thankful we have so much material to keep us in awe of Jeff's incredible playing.
